Did you know the Queensland Government is supporting local businesses by offering a range of different business grants to suit many different types of businesses? One of these grants could suit you and your business and could be worth taking advantage of.
Grants are a useful source of funding, but they often have very specific application requirements and usually relate to a particular industry sector or community to stimulate economic growth, or certain stages of the business cycle, such as developing a product or installing new systems to promote efficiency.
Below is a summary of grants doing the rounds at the moment:
Small Business Artisan Producer: Cheers To That
Will provide assistance to artisan producers of gourmet food (including non-alcoholic beverages) to help them grow their businesses, access new market opportunities and enhance their gourmet food expertise.
Funding of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible artisan producers to engage business consultants, mentors or digital experts to assist them to establish and grow their businesses, and to seize market opportunities as they arise.
Small Business Entrepreneur: Help to Get on Your Feet
Can assist new small businesses to access professional advice and support in the critical early stages of establishing a business.
Matched funding of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses to engage a consultant, advisor or business coach for up to 3 months to help establish or develop the business. The minimum grant funding amount is $1,000.
Business Growth: We Are Right Behind You
A grant program which provides targeted assistance for small and medium businesses that demonstrate high-growth and employment aspirations.
Funding of up to $50,000 (excluding GST) may be provided for eligible businesses to purchase and implement highly specialised equipment or services and enable them to move to the next stage of growth.
Small business digital grant: Time to Upgrade
Can assist small businesses to access digital technologies and services to help them work smarter, engage with the global economy and make the most of online business opportunities arising from digital disruption
Matched funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses for the purchase of hardware, software and services (such as digital coaching). The minimum grant funding is $1,000
Business development fund: Need Support From a Investor?
To support the growth of innovative businesses and the creation of high-value jobs as well as attract both interstate and international investments in Queensland, thereby strengthening Queensland's entrepreneurial and start-up eco-system.
The Fund may invest between $125,000 and $2.5 million (matched by the co-investor/s) in a Queensland business in order to turn ideas and innovations into a commercial reality.
